Some Minor Complaints on Trains.com Model RR e-Newsletter
Posted by CBQ_Guy on Friday, March 19, 2004 4:20 PM
Wanted to mention this and hopefully the editors will see it.

I personally like reading the MR Express articles by the various editors and staff members. I was disappointed they've been down graded to an every other week feature. Occasionally I like to respond to one of the authors on what they have written. A click on link by their name would be ideal for instant feedback, but unfortunately isn't included.. A minor irritation, though, but one nevertheless, so I have to hunt their email contact down by clicking on "Meet The Staff", "Contact Us", or some such. However, I attempted to do that today, and now it seems I'm unable to locate any email contact info at all for individuals at MR! I didn't spend a lot of time looking so may have missed something, but wanted to mention it in case someone at the magazine thought it was a "good" idea to remove this contact info.

I also like the polls which were a feature of each issue, but now this latest one doesn't seem to have one either.

The previous two items above are my biggest complaints concerning the e-newsletter.

The following are my suggestions, not really complaints:

I would like to see the author's name, in the case of the "MR Express" section, and the manufacturer name, in the new product section, listed at the start of the piece, rather than at the end as is currently done. In the case of the new products, I would skip reading certain ones when I see who the manufacturer is, for whatever reason(s). Now I have to either read something, and then discover it's from a company I don't want to buy from, or in the case of the "MR Express" author, well . . . point is, it's easier to read this up front at the beginning of the piece, rather that to scroll down to see who the piece is attributed to, then back up to find your place again and start reading. Minor points, I agree, but would be helpful and thus an improvement in my opinion. Other than the above points, though . . . "zero defects".

Respectfully,
