If you are interested, there are some pictures of a wooden trestle that I built on my rr blog that I write for our local newspaper.  The link is:

Enjoy!

I used this site for a guide when I built my own trestle, one with a 34" radius:

Scroll partway down the page and find a schematic for laying a curved deck.

I've used this Kalmbach book for my trestles, too. Look at my HOW TO for a curved trestle.

I've been trying to find a site on the internet and from model train sites and every other means for plans for building trestles, lots of hints, products, companies, but no plans, the only plans I have seen are in a couple of books, none on the 'net, WHY????

The Kalmbach bridge and trestle book has pics, plans and jig designs. It is what I used for my trestle. I built one of the bent jigs and photocopied all the plans I needed. I built the trestle upside down to keep the road bed flat.

If you think you have it right, your standards are too low. my photos http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a235/ARTHILL/ Art

This book published by kalmbach is a great book with all sorts of plans for building bridges.

You can order it directly from kalmbach at www.kalmbach.com  look under model railroading and structures....chuck

Do a search on MR's magazine index for trestle, you'll surely find plenty of articles in all the modle magazines.

Also, check your LHS for the Kalmach/MR book on Bridges and Trestles, which includes some photos and (if memory serves me right - I'm at work now) drawings of some trestles.

Hope that helps!

I'm going to build my frist wooden trestle in HO 18' deep x 54' long. Dose anyone know what issue of MR that had plans on how to build a wooden trestle?  OR dose anyone know of wooden trestle plans on the web?
