IHC Sound Car

IHC has a sound car (freight) that is battery operated for the sound and varies the sound with the speed of the train. Does anyone have an opinion on this?

I have one and it's in moth balls. When I first got it I wasn't overly impressed with it as I had to file some of the axle to correct the hiss sound as it was making too much contact and giving me too much "hiss". It sounds much better now But......

Hear it for yourself and if you can get a demonstration before you purchase it I would recommend it.

I'm almost tempted to remove the sound unit then jamming it in one of my cheaper locos just to see what it sounds like.

If one could roll back the hands of time... They would be waiting for the next train into the future. A. H. Francey 1921-2007
