If I were to pick a favourite locomotive I'd have to pick two.
One steam, the other diesel.

The steam one would be my Virginia & Truckee 4-4-0. My mom bought it for my dad back in the 60's. Still runs rather well for something older than me.
The diesel is my Athearn SE STL&H SD40-2s, just because.

Gordon

Brought to you by the letters C.P.R. as well as D&H!

Proto Y3. Behaves more like a state-of-the-art diesel than any other model steam locomotive. Smooth tracking, no bouncing, effective electrical pick up, and can take curves well.

Mine is an oldie but goodie!!! An Arnold Rapido Pacific in Southern colors!! I got it in the 70's and it will STILL pull in excess of 40 freifgt cars on level track. Pulls an 8 car passenger train up a 4% grade. Beautifull.

My Spectrum 4-8-2 is a piece of work. Of course, that'll change once I get my Rivarossi FEF-3.

My favorite locomotive is my Athearn Tuscan PRR F7a Superpower. I'm 23, and Irecieved it from my Grandfather when I was about 6. He had had it for about 10 years prior to that. I figure I'll probably pass it on to my kids some day.

BINGO! It's an N-scale LL GP20. A wonderful little unit that purrs like a Kato.

I like My athearn GP-38. I bought an undecoraded version and using decals made by microscale for and avalible through scale Rail Graphics, I painted and Decaled it as a WSOR Geep almost exactly like the pic in my sig, but only number 3808. Number 3802 will be the next one I paint though.

My Genesis Burlington "Grayback" F-3 A-B set. Runs wonderful, and if you thought the Genesis F-Series were detailed out of the box, just wait until I get hold of the Details West F-Unit detail pack![:D][:p]

Right now my "pride & joys" are some Kato SD90MACs I had custom painted for the now-defunct Washington Central shortline.
