yeah that's why I said I was gonna quit the forums a while ago. If this fight occured while I was in that state, i'd leave the forums forever. luckily, that's not the current stage, so I'm staying (for now)

I absolutely agree. I'm tired of seeing all these negative topics or people who tear down other's for differnt ideas. We all have differnt ways of doing things and the great thing about the forums is for modelers from all over the world to get together and share ideas and talk about things, not to take sides and start wars.

I quit contributing to this forum months and months ago. I look in every now and then and don't like what I see so I leave. I'm not actively working on any models at this but what makes think I would want associate with you negative pessimists if you're going to have that attitude? You'd think that people who shared a common interest would get along but I guess not.

Clean up act.

Yeah, and I will leave if this get started up again. I WILL LEAVE THIS TIME!!!!!!!! No drills, alarms, anything. I'll leave. NES (Never Ending Story) is starting to get annoying, and i hope that it's locked soon. It's another impractical post in my opinion.

My train of thought has, from time to time, been known to jump the track.

Going through life with a one track mind can be very difficult, and perhaps downright unhealthy.

RELAX!!!

Dougal, I hate to say this but you kinda asked to get things thrown at you on that NES thread by going on and on and on about "I hate steam" and "diesels rule" postings.

If you continually make statements that you know are going to incite people, dont be surprised when some one throws a shoe at you. The rules of the NES thread were to add 3 word phrases that dont necessarily follow what was said earlier, not to post and repost your own personal beliefs, it ruins the continuity and takes all the fun out of it. Not tot mention you get a lot of people pissed off. So dont be surprised if you get some ugly responces. Part of learning to be an adult is to know that statements and actions have consiquences , sometimes consiquesces you did not expect, maybe you thought it was just a joke but humor is relative. One persons joke is anothers insult, I always say you cant joke around with someone until you really know them, otherwise you dont know when you've crossed the line and hurt them.

   Have fun with your trains

Sorry, I confess that I did some of it. But I won't let this forum turn into a battle ground again.

Think of it this way: it's a stern warning. We're acknowleding the situation and we don't like it. If you people want to flame it all you want go ahead but by doing so you'll prove the point.

Instead of Model Railroader it should be angry railroad because too many times I've seen how negative you all get, blaming a manufacturer, upset at others opinions, the hobby is expensive, it's the kids' fault for ruining it. Ignoring it is one thing but when the list of topics is every other one like this and topics go bad it's not fun anymore.

What flame fest?

NES had a page of steam/diesel tennis unless I'm missing something Pamela and Shania are back riding the rails

I agree, this nonsense has to stop. I admit, I was going at it with dougal back there about steam vs. diesel. Both rock. I say we get back to trains. That's why I posted "What's your favorite 4-8-4?".

Dougal,
Chill out man, I have backed you before, but your out on a limb on this one.

I notice that you have 1134 posts or so, perhaps you are getting into to many thoughts and threads, and are becoming to high profile for your own good.

BTW I saw nothing worthy of quitting in your tennis match about steam and diesel. No one attacked you personally did they? (or did I miss something all together?)

Just relax... Stop posting so much and you won't be "out in the open" for differing opinions and cheap shots. Personally, I find some great posts here, and spend a lot more time learning than replying... There is some great info on this forum!

I am not taking anyone's side here, nor am I trying to insult anyone, but just because someone posts a lot doesn't mean they deserve cheap shots coming their way. Its what they say.

I also have taken part in the steam vs. diesel thing, but its to show that there is room for everybody`s interests. I agree it shouldn`t be done in a nasty manner.

Steam vs. Diesel?

Should be a "non argument". [;)][4:-)][8)][:o)][:D]

Guys as I pointed out on the other thread asking about Steam and age correlation, both are great in their own right. It's all railroading! Let's just move forward.

One of the quickest ways to put out a fire: SNUFF OUT THE OXYGEN! [:0] Same with these threads! If the authors choose to "fan flames",[:(!] [|(] DON'T FEED THEM WITH RESPONSES and "POOF" [%-)] they wind up waaaaaay back on page 8 in two to three days!

Peace!

Guys, I think we went thru all this a couple of weeknds ago and decided then, that if someone doesn't care for the thread, then ignor it and go on to something else. Please, if this starts up again, Bergie will lock the NES and we'll all lose, so please, knock off the flaming and steam/diesel BS and just have fun. Dougal, part of being an adult, is knowing when to backoff and stay out of controversial situations. Respect other opinions concerning steam and diesel. We have a wide range of age groups here, and you may be the future of model railroading but yours isn't the only opinion worth noting here. To the other good folks here, our younger posters here can get a little carried away, so try to steer them back on coarse when they stray. Remember, we were all young once, and thought we had the tiger by the tail. The NES is for fun, lets keep it that way.[:)]
