Hello John and welcome to the MRR forum.  I have Decker's sitting on a shelf awaiting my attention in the future.  It is a really nice kit, and being quite narrow has some application in a setting where there is not too much space.  I really like how you have modified the kit.

I got some of the painting done on the clapboard walls.  For now I'm going about the kit as if I'm not replacing 1/3 of the building with the brick addition.  I'm doing this just in case the brick doesn't come out good!

Needless to say, I'm going for a ratty, unkempt, paint peeling type of look!  Windows are next up.  I have to get them painted and then do the Gallery Glass stuff.

I mentioned in the previous post that I plan on altering the kit.  One third of the building I'm going to scrap and replace with a brick addition.  I have some old castings I'm going to use for this.  Here's a picture that shows what I mean:

Here's some pictures that show the castings and an "in-progress" photo cutting out the windows/doors, etc.:

This last photo shows the footprint of the building and how the brick addition will sit.

I plan on covering up the two corner joints with concrete quoins (...I think I spelled that right!??).  I still have to add the concrete sills to the windows/doors.

Anyway, so that's where I'm at.....

I started the FOS Scale - Decker's Tar Soap kit......

Here's the contents:

I was able to get the bracing done as well as brushing on a coat of A&I:

I also prepped the windows/doors and put a primer coat on everything (including the details):

I'm going to make some changes to the kit.  If you look at the FOS Scale picture, the right side of the building I plan on removing (...the part with the roof stairwell entrance).  I'm going to replace that 1/3 of the building with a brick addition in the same shape as the original FOS design.  I have some brick wall castings I bought a while back that I'll be using.  I started cutting out the windows/doors from the brick castings, but still have a little bit more to do.  Anyway, I guess it'll be a little more clearer when I get further along!
