Also check back issues of Short Line and Narrow Gauge Gazette and also look for a smaller publication called Timber Times, which is devoted to logging lines

Probably 40 years ago, give or take, MR had the most comprehensive artlce on logging I have found. It dealt with camp cars, loading cars, all the cable and rigging used to move and load logs, how to do the rigging. I was totally enthralled with the article, enough that I added a logging branch to the railroad I had at the time. There may be more elaborate and comprehensive articles now, but that one really got me going.

I can't think of anything better than talking to Paul himself. He is a great guy and really helpful. He has a CD that shows how to build and is a moderator on the logging line of another forum. His website has lots of terrific pics;

Any MR (or any other mag for that matter) with Paul Templar's work.

Here is the result of the search at "Index of Magazines" (link above)

Does anyone know of good old MRs (older than 1999) that are about logging or short line railroads?
