since i had absolutely nothing to do today, i fugured i might as well play with some trains on my little module. so if you are bored like me, here is something to occupy your time too [:D][:D][:D]
the place, SP's Sunset route somewhere between Yuma and Gila Bend, Arizona. the time, summer 1994, late afternoon.
as we stand alongside the tracks we see an eastbound auto rack train sitting in the hole, led by 2 SP B39-8's and a SSW 8-40B. tearing down the mainline is a westbound stack train led by 5 of the SP's newest power, the GP60.
here, we have a closer shot of the westbound Geeps
this picture was taken from the highway overpass as the westbound stack train shot by underneath. the eastbound is waiting patiently in the siding for it's turn.
after the stack train finally cleared, the auto rack train gets the green and heads out onto the main to continue it's journey.
we'll run on down to the dry creekbed for these last two shots as the eastbound heads off.
and one last parting shot of the eastbounf auto rack train before we pack up our gear and head back to Gila Bend for some burgers at the Space Age Grill
