Randy, listed in Modelrailroader ,Standard hobby, www.standardhobby.com tel #1-800-223-1355 and trainworld is www. trainworld.com tel# 1-800-541-7010. Try and look at the adds before you call. Also Model Rectifier site is www.modelrec.com.
It's best to charge your purchase at the time of ordering. Checks take to long to process/clear.

I keep hearing "Standard" and "Train World" mentioned, could you post their URL? Sorry Newbie about to make his first purchases.

I used tech 2 for years with trouble free performance. MRC makes a great product . I know you can't go wrong on either choice but I would by the latest and greatest.

I purchased two of the mrc #2400 at about $45 each, they have both worked very well as i run four trains simultaneously. The model numbers have changed to techs now. Keep in mind the distance of feeder tracks or power supply leads, and the conductivity of nickel-silver vs. brass rails. see ya, mark

I have to concur with Dan. Eventually I up-graded to the 9500 series and you get a 5 year warranty.
You should be able to get them at a discount thru Standard or Trainworld.

I have a Tech II - 2500 with momentum and the Tech III - 9500. I agree with Dan that you want at least one pack with the amp and voltage gauges. Also, make sure you get momentum on your pack because it adds so much realism. I believe you will have to spend more than $40 for a Tech III but I recommend it if you are going to do anything more than a simple loop. Good Luck - Ed

I would recomend the 9500. Having the gages has been a life saver. The 9500 I think is their best and is worth the money.

Which MRC power pack to get?
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, August 20, 2001 1:34 AM
I'm looking to buy 2 MRC power packs. I'm looking at either the tech 2 2400 or the tech 4 260.

I can get each tech 2 2400 for $32 but I'm not sure of the pricing on the tech 4. I really don't want to go above 40 but if the tech 4 is worth it I may go a bit more.

so, what's the best deal?
