Looking for a particular article/issue.

Hi everyone,

I am trying to locate a particular article that (as I recall) was relatively recent in this Magazine's history (we're talking like the last 5 years). The article in question featured an N-Scale sectional-based layout focusing on the NYC in the early 1950s. I believe the guy who built it ran some D&H power too. I recall that it was a point-to-point operation, and that the article made a very big deal about the fact that the layout itself had been built entirely in sections, one at a time, over the past decade while the creator lived in tighter spaces. Does this ring any bells, and if so, could you please tell me the date of the Model Railroader in which this layout was featured?

Thanks.

You can try going to the "index of Magazines" at the top of the page. There you can search through Model Railroader (along with several other mags) to try and find the articles. If it was MR, you can limit your search to just MR, and start typing in key words to try and find it. If you know any more specifics, like the author's name, it will help narrow down the search.

Sadly, I don't know any other specifics. It was really a rather impressive and heavily-detailed layout, and I was hoping that perhaps my description would ring a bell. I already checked the archives before I made this post, and I couldn't find anything there that rang a bell, which is highly depressing.

I'm beginning to wonder if perhaps it was a featured layout in one of the '10 great model railroads of such-and-such year' issues-- if anyone has any of those handy from prior to 2003/2004, it'd be a really big favor to me if you could flip through those and see if you could find what I'm talking about.
