help with new ho 0-6-0 engine
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, February 19, 2004 6:56 PM
i recently purchased a used 0-6-0 saddle tank locomotive at a train show. i took it home, oiled it, and got it running. I noticed that on the bottom it says: Revell INC. 1957. It has a metal body and brass wheels. The revell i know of is the one that makes model cars and planes, and a few non-powered locomotive models. there is some damage: brass wire on left side of tank missing and a bit of the left bumper

can anyone give me an estimated value of this, and some information on the manufacture?

i have a picture of it here: (it should work this time)

Go on Ebay, look at model trains, HO and where it asks for "Search" Type in Revell and see if this locomotive is being offered. I remember the loco you are talking about. 1957 sounds about right. I have a Varney Docksider, which was a very popular loco back then. However, they don't sell for as much money as you would like. I might be interested, when you find out what you want, email me. My email address is below.
