Does anybody know when the BLI SW7/NW2 and/or the PCM SW1500 switchers will be available?  I need either a KCS or MKT for my 50s layout.  I talked to a BLI rep at a recent train show and he indicated that BLI had cut way back on production because of "the economy".  Both Walthers and BLI websites say "TBD" and I still can't find that on my calendar.

I believe SW1500's didn't come out until 1966, so that wouldn't work for a 1950's layout.

As for the NW2/SW7, if neither road you want was produced in earlier runs, you could try to track down an undecorated one and decorate it yourself. If it has been produced. sooner or later one will turn up on ebay or at a local flea market, may just take time.

Also maybe look at a Life-Like SW7 instead??

Just got a reply from the BLI forum on their website and, according to BLI rep, the PCM SW1500 are at least a year away but they are planning a run of the Blueline version of the SW7 "later this year".

I should have said the second run of SW7s.  Nobody had any of the first run yet.  I'll preorder one and see if that helps get production rolling.  Thanks

David,

According to the BLI/PCM web site, they are both TBD.  As soon as enough pre-orders come in for a run, that status will definitely change.

For now, put in your pre-order, with the hopes of bringing them one step closer to reality.  Otherwise, be patient and check the BLI delivery schedule page once a month.

Don't count on PCM for a while...

BLI has already released their SW7s.
