Traffic sign info

I'm in the process of going over my layout and making sure things are correct for the period I'm modeling. You know, traffic signs and such. Found this site: http://www.trafficsign.us/regsign.html
It has all kinds of info on signs, their design and usage. Something that was very helpful, and what I needed, was when the US changed over the color of Stop signs. According to this source, it was in 1954 when they went from a yellow background to red. No exact date was given, just the year. There's lots more info on the site for other signs as well.
