UP (yes I know this's more based on Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas etc). But UP runs through those states. Even though they are mostly based out west, they still run trains through Illinois, particularly Chicago, Wisconsin, Ohio and Michigan (which are Midwestern states). Every once and a while I'll see a UP train roll through town. Other than that, GTW and SOO are my favorites. [^][^]

Illinois Central. I grew up along it's mainline, even traveled aboard it's passenger trains between Chicago & Memphis.

CB&Q is what i voted for but its tough since i live in the midwest having Milwaukee Road, C&NW, SOO Line, and Rock Island as roads that were around.

great poll.
