Great Big Rollin' Railroad
Posted by garyla on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 8:25 AM

I haven't heard that sung since about the mid-1970s, or whenever it was that UP was running a nice institutional ad campaign on network television.

That "on-time" part in the lyrics wouldn't have played well over the last ten years!

At the time this was being heard on TV, of course, the UP looked like one of the brightest lights (making $$$ and running well) in a troubled industry.

If I ever met a train I didn't like, I can't remember when it happened!
