Hi UP john,
[#welcome]
I voted UP, but that is a risk on these fora, altough the UP bashing died out a bit over the last weeks
(that is why my sig is censored)

I didn't vote because you didn't put my two favorites on here. They are, the New York Central and the New Haven.

Ohhhhh, It hasn't died yet, There are just more interesting things to talk about, but bring up the UP RR and all the storm clouds gather, the lightning starts, the thunder rolls, the rain comes down in sheets, and tornados rips wide swaths thru out the land, people dive for shelter in vain as they're suck up into the funnels, houses, cars, planes, trains, and all sorts of things are ripped apart and thrown around, leaving a path of complete destruction, the likes of which hasn't been seen since the beginning of recorded history.[:D][:D]

Mine would have to be the CNW, CB&Q, CSX and Amtrak - also like Metrolink. As my layout depicts a museum I can run pretty much anything, so I tend to buy on the basis of likeing the look of a loco or car.

You forgot the Canadian National. Its a class 1 railroad too that operates all over canada and parts of the United states I think you should go back and add it as a voting option.
derailment? what derailment? All reports of derailments are lies. Their are no derailments within a hundreed miles of here.

I'm an Amtrak fan. It is the primary presence on my layout. 2 E8's, 1 E9 and 3 F7's most of the time with several cars. The freight varies with my other favorites. BN, RI, ATSF, UP and MKT. Started modeling them I think before 1980.

I of course voted Conrail. If you disagree, think about spending 8 years of life with Conrail then Norfolk Southern takes them over.

No Southern[?]

I also noticed no Seaboard or Atlantic Coast Line, oh well the poll maker couldn't have possibly added ALL the roads to the list.

As another fellows tagline goes:
"Southern STILL serves the South"

I agree with ShaunCN, CN is one of the top railroads on the continent. Operates not only in Canada, but also through states all the way down to the Gulf of Mexico. (So I voted for Canadian Pacific, the closest RR to CN)

I used to live in Goshen, IN. Never got tired of watching those big blue locos. Now I'm back home in South Dakota where BNSF rules the land. I also like DM&E - gotta root for the local underdogs.

for me it's gotta be THE ROAD COMING / GOING HOME, ie: the country street I live on. it's near the tracks and that road is pretty nice too. I'm partial to CP, CN

cheers, krump
