If you know what shape they are, you can cut them out of sheet styrene really easily. As a substitute, you can even use heavy paper; while I was in college I made good use of index cards this way. If you use a paper product, you'll need to glue it on with CA (superglue).

Modeling Bridge Splice Plates
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, February 6, 2004 7:51 PM
I'm modeling a arch made of Central Valley bridge girders and would like to include splice plates on the girders. Does anyone know who makes them or how I can scratchbuild them?

Thanks
Lamont
