Perhaps Kadee's web site, www.kadee.com or their
tel # 1-800-545-4899 will answer your question.
Another choice, if you can look up the kadee coupler conversion list in the Walthers reference book and match your manufacturers car with their listing.

Kadee also makes couplers where the shank is offset, just for the type of problem you describe. You should be able to get a list of couplers to cars from their website. I'm not sure of the address but if its not the obvious one I'm sure you can do a search and find it.

you did not mention what number kadee you are using.the #5 is the most popular.you may have an offset coupler.most irregularities are taken up by use of shims

I am trying to replace the old couplers on a hopper with Kadee couplers. I think I am correctly following the directions on the Kadee
package. The problem is that attaching the "lid" to the car causes the coupler to be 1/16" too low. What am I doing wrong?
