Who has a website dedicated to their layout?
Posted by 88gta350 on Wednesday, February 4, 2004 1:15 PM
I've just started a website dedicated solely to my planned HO empire that will (hopefully) soon start construction. I plan to record for posterity the progress and mistakes on that site. It also gives my version of the history of my freelanced road. My questions is who else out there has websites dedicated in whole or in part to their road? Include lnks to the sites if you would, I'd love seeing everyone's designs and progress. As for mine, it can be seen at www.ivrr.com I just threw some things up there yesterday so I had something to post, there really isn't any info about my layout yet, but everyone is free to check it out and give me their thoughts. I'm new to web publishing and fairly new to model railroading, so be kind!!

Thanks,
DAve M

Once I get more web server space, and once I get more time to create a web page, and once I have a LAYOUT to show(!), I'd like to have a dedicated web presence. But, for now, the only thing I have is a virtual version, which is my "recreation" of part of my under-construction layout using Auran's Trainz software. It isn't hyper-accurate the way a CAD program would be, but it has helped me to explore some of the design and scenic possibilities.

The work-in-progress screen shots are at:

East Central Indiana (HO Scale) Railroad may be seen at:
http://cid.railfan.net/eci_new.html

This is a freelanced modern shortline running on ex-PC trackage.

PS - Please reduce the size of the graphic used in sigs to something like 125 x XXX instead of full sized photos. :-)

I put up a simple website using the free space allowed by my internet provider. It shows my layout plan and a few progress photos of my unfinished layout. http://members.cox.net/dbhuff/dsrr/

Avondaleguy... just have to say I like the way you've posted pics of your "layout" using the trainz software. I might have to look into that too, since it will likely be over a year until I even have the house in which my future road will reside. [:(]

I probably should, but for now, I'm just storing photos in the space that I get from my ISP, and occasionally including one or two in my posts here when appropriate. You can find a couple of new ones over on the "Layout Size" poll topic.

I found this clever software package called 'gallery' seems to work well enough for me to post way too many pictures. I just have to do some editing and captioning for it to be interesting.

I have one and also a place for people to upload their pics to share in the various forums.
http://trains.script-host.com is for anybody to use.

Anyone that needs space for a club can drop me an email and I can set you up with a subdomain off of script-host and you can have some free space without all the pop ups and ads a lot of free space providers throw at you.
