Lets get ready to rumble...............

  1. LHS vs Online Shopping: I want to save a buck-No I want to save my LHS.
  2. RTR vs Kit Built: So many choices, so much bickering.
  3. Ebay: I just got ripped off, cheated, burned, screwed over, disrespected, violated, etc, etc, etc by (insert ebayer here).
  4. Bachmann: They are the best or worst manufacturer.
  5. Politics: My political party is better than yours - No its not.
  6. State of the Hobby: It is dying, thriving or static.
  7. John Allen, Malcolm Furrow, etc: They are the most realistic or unrealistic modelers ever.
  8. Religion: I am offended by your religious views - You're offended by mine.
  9. It's the weekend!!!! Big Al, AKA Parker Legend, returns: Chapter 1,876
  10. DCC vs DC: Flat line or ride the wave.

Honorable Mention:

The Stars and Polls: I know this is a blast from the past but still deserves mention due to many previous discussions.

I do hope that six months from now you will pay us a return visit and tell us where you went and what you did after you got there. I can inform you that there is at least one forum out there that is very elite-ridden and there is absolutely no room for unpopular opinions.

One other thing that's usually good for starting a war:

A contrarian post in way oversize, hyperbold, "I'm using a bullhorn," type!

Fortunately, the fire brigade seems to have responded quickly.

Apparently posting a joke about politics and MRR is a good way to get a thread uber banned.

I just want to add my two cents worth-I have my own physical issue-carpal tunnel and arthritis in both hands but that doesn't stop me from doing the best work I can do.I don't use it as an excuse.Granted my stuff (most of which has been posted before) may not be prototypically correct, weathered accurately or photographed properly but it looks good to me. Anytime I have posted photos they were met with mixed reviews but you learn from them.I don't use my ailments as an excuse for doing poor work.If my work doesn't look good I won't post it until I feel it is ready to be seen by others.

Anyway-thanks for letting me add to this discussion-BobWhistling [:-^]

THAT'S WHY STUPID TOPICS LIKE THIS GET OUT OF HAND. NICE RESPONCE SPACEMOUSE. IT TAKES 1 OVER-THE TOP REMARK TO GET YOU BOILING.

1) Responses like this one. Not always from 8500HPGASTURBINE but similar. He just doesn't get the response from Space mouse is meant to be funny and the rest of us enjoy his witty banter. Unfortunatley there are those that just "don't get it" and probably should not respond to posts like this.

2) Posters who fly in with words like "here we go again" and "flame war" and "trolling" just to start a fight. They lob the grenade and they walk away thinking they are doing a service to the rest of us.

3) Posters who think they're moderators. Let the mods do their jobs. Don't come in here and play referree when you're not wearing the uniform. You tend to make things worse.

4) FANBOIS meant as (fanboys) of anyhing. Persons, equipment whatever.

5) OLD fools who don't get my jokes Wink [;)]

It's really kind of hard to support your local hobby shop when the nearest hobby shop that's worth the name is a 150 mile roundtrip.
