If you have the exploded drawing that came with the locomotive and can't figure out from that how to get it apart, you might try asking the Bach-man. Bachmann's Web site has an e-mail question and answer section.

I want to kitbash my Spectrum 2-10-0s but can't for the life of me figure out how to remove the boilers.
I can remove the plumbing, I've removed every screw I can find, but I still can't get the boilers off.
Can anyone provide details of how to achieve this goal?
