Do you mean mechanical wise or detailing? Cause the one I saw ran just like every other Proto steamer, flawless.

Is their review any good? Does it mention the fact that the drivers are goofy looking, that the cab roof completely lacks any detail, and that many people are having DCC issues with it? Does the reviewer realize that the model is really a hybrid of the S and S-1 classes of NKP Berk? Does he explain why the C&O diehards absolutely HATE the model?

Or is the review just another cheering section for advertisers? While I was impressed with the high quality of the reviews in the February MR (they were all FAR less biased and more informational than over the past few years), I'm still wary of MR reviews, at least until a few months of improvements.

Mind you, I genuinely LIKE the P2K Berkshire. I own six, and my review for the NKPHTS will be published in the next newsletter. That said, I didn't pull any punches when I reviewed the engine, and listed all it's plusses and minuses. I think that overall, the model is far better than the Rivarossi engine and even most of the brass Berkshires that have been released over the years, but that the engine isn't up to the standards of P2K's other three steam releases.
