Maggie, Try selling them on eBay.com. Even if you can't identify the parts. The buyer will probably recognize what you have and it should bring a fair price. You may be surprised. Also, local model railroad clubs have swap meets(flea markets), most are listed in MR magazine. Your local train shop may be a good starting point to at least help you identify what you have. Then again you could donate them to a local youth group or model railroad club.

Need Advice - parts & pieces
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, July 27, 2001 2:35 PM
Maybe you can tell me where to start with this. My father recently passed away. He had been gathering and tinkering with model trains for a while (though never got anything set up). He intended for his grandson (my son) to one day have the trains when he is old enough (a few more years to go -- he's only 6).

I plan to keep most of the engines and cars, but there are a lot of parts and pieces that I don't know what to do with. My heart won't let me throw them away -- any suggestions for who I could give/sell them to?? I doubt that there is anything of great value, but someone might want them.

Thanks,
Maggie
