Actually, it's sort by "Descending  Order" not "Ascending", which is what I had.  I've now selected "Descending Order" and that seems to work.  Thanks.

Go to update profile and select ascending order. You can even add a cool signature while your there.

It is possible to set the defaults so that the messages in all threads are displayed "Newest to Oldest" by default?

 It's a right royal pain having to set "Newest to Oldest" everytime you go to read a thread.
