Which passenger train would you most like to model?

Obviously there are too many to list, so I included 'Other'. I cast my vote for the Powhatan Arrow. What stands out as your favorite?

Unfortunatly I don't so I'll stick to a couple of coaches & maybe a dome car or two.

I model the Acela Regional Service on a fictional route between Allentown, PA and Buffalo,NY, so I voted for the Acela Service. The trains will be named the Valley Flyer Service.

The Powahatan Arrow. Next to the SP's Daylight Limited, I think it's the most beautiful train in the world. (those J's sure are something)

I voted for the most beautiful train ever, the Milwaukee Road Hiawatha. I rode the Hiawatha several times between Minneapolis and Chicago when I was young, and that train has much to do with my love of railroading.

The Southern Crescent, woth an accurate Ps-4 Heavy Pacific on the point. Broadway Limited would make me a very happy camper indeed if they would do one.

I chose " The super chief " but I don't know what SANTA FE travel to any state
Any body know about " The Super Chief " SANTA FE which they use to travel other state e.g LA etc ?

I cant believe I am the only one who chose The Broadway Limited!! Oh well, give me the version with the Lightweight car set and the T-1 4-4-4-4 in the lead! The Powattan Arrow is a VERY close second though....I agree with 4884 Bigboy.....it is a beautiful trainset.....next to The Broadway of course! :-)

I picked the 20th Century LImited as a Streamlined beauty with the J3a Hudsons.
The 1950s-60s version was still attractive also with E7s in the lead.

The streamliner that I'm actually going to model is Seaboard Coast LIne's "Champion"( post 1967). Originally run by Atlantic Coast Line, this train carried passengers from the North to vacation spots in Florida. Train was often 15 to 20 cars long with 3 E units pulling.

You can't help but to appreciate the classics! Certainly the 20th Century Limited--with either the streamlined Hudsons or E-units--was a beautiful train.[^]

I run with a P40 and four cars(Acela regional train aren't electric I.E.Keystones, Empire Service ect.) . I'll have 2 sets. Sorry it so long to reply.

The Super Chief was a Los Angeles to Chicago run. Pretty train--at the CSRM I sometimes work on the "Cochiti", which ran as part of the original Super Chief consist.

My favorite was the Sacramento Northern "Comet", an express train that ran from Chico to Oakland (and all the way to San Francisco once the Bay Bridge opened) featuring varied interurban passenger motors, with one of SN's variety of open-vestibule observation cars on the end. I've got an HO drumhead kit for the "Comet" but lack a model of the SN's "Bidwell" or "Moraga" to affix it onto...

I can't believe so few people have voted for the 20th Century! This is still one of the most famous trains in the world and it's very tough to find good models to model it - I have not yet found any even remotely accurate NYC Pullman cars to match any of the 20th Century consists in anything but brass. I would think, with such a famous train that was pulled by such amazing locomotives (including non-streamlined Hudsons, several different streamlined Hudsons, Alco PA's, Baldwin sharknoses and E7's/E8's), that there would be a lot of pent-up demand.

While I'm at it here, who makes a decent HO-scale Dreyfuss Hudson? I thought I saw a Rivarossi model somewhere but is it any good? I have not seen any others. And if I'm wrong about the Pullman cars (I'd be looking for the 1938 or 1940 versions), please let me know. I really have not seen these accurately modeled in plastic, and this is one train I would really like to get right.

It's not listed, but I'd really like a model of the Nebraska Zephyr set as preserved at the Illinois Railway Museum - articulated, stainless steel, and with an E5 as motive power - very sleek, elegant looking train.

That makes two of us! I'm not that far away from the IRM and the NZ is a real beauty. Standing beside it, I felt transported back in time. Absolutely gorgeous, she is! I think I took more photographs of it than anything else at the museum.[:D][:D][:D]

Rivarossi did have one. When Model Expo was the distributor for Rivarossi products, I remembered seeing it when I ordered the Santa Fe (Blue Goose) streamlined Hudson. Curiously, looking through the Walthers 2004 catalog, I don't see one. Checking the advertisements in the pages of MR should help, as it was a popular item. My version runs smoothly and I've had no problems with it; the NYC version should be every bit as good.[:)]
