How many ATSF FTs looked like this?

Here is a question for our Santa Fe experts (maybe Andy Sperandeo?). The August 1952 Model Railroader has a small photo of a Santa Fe FT A unit with footboards on the pilot -- like a road switcher would have. This is really unusual looking and would make a fascinating model. Anyone know if this was one of a kind or did the ATSF do this with many F units -- or did any other railroad do this with their Fs?
