Some of the more superstituos guys on the KCS won't go near it. As far as I know it's never required anything more than routine maintenance. Last time I checked it was a -2, don't think it was modified to -3. Try finding it on the KCS roster. That's a hit and miss thing. It doesn't appear on the one I have but do a search on Google and you'll see it all over the place.

That's because they keep it well lubed with WD-666, the spray lubricant of the beast, and use Phillips 666 motor oil.

WOW! All of this stuff is great! You guys are doing some really first class work out there! MR and RMC and the rest should never have a problem finding material for articles. You guys need to let them know about your work and see if they can use it!
A truckload of chickens, headed to market:
That never made it...
The driver and passenger survived (they were trying to push the stalled vehicle off the crossing), but most of the chickens were not so lucky. The train crew, however, ended up with a nice chicken dinner.

jguess733 wrote:Ray, great work. What kind of kit is that caboose of yours?
Thank you Jason! That was built from an old MDC/Roundhouse kit I had sitting on the shelf for over 20 years. I had bought 4 of them way back and only got one put together, ruined another one back then and it sat on my workbench for 17 years (most of which I wasn't doing anything in the hobby) till I finally threw it out. A couple of months ago I found the ones that were still in the box and decided to get them ready for operation on the SLOW. The last one I figured I would would try my hand at some super detailing and hope it can be judged towards the Master Builder - Cars NMRA AP award.

this picture almost worked except for the eclispe behind the mountain and no grab bars on the front of the engine. My entertainment shelf is sitting over the corner of the layout. casting a shawdow. Somebody in this house is going to be missing a light soon......

My latest project (not finished yet) is painting an Athearn BB SD40-2 to look like a reasonable facsimile of KCS 666.Yesterday I started with the undecorated loco and gave it a coat of the KCS gray paint. As of 4:30 pm today I've gotten to this point.
Yes, I know the herald isn't straight. That will be corrected. There's still more to do.

Thanks. There are two Pheonix sound systems for the 4 units. More detail shots can be found on the Aristo Craft forum.

Nice pics everyone. Art --- where did you get the cactus on your layout? ==> they look great!
Here's a few ...
A few images of the Class A Climax I am building in G scale.
Not done yet, just some progress photos
Thanks for your time
The Low Gap trestle is coming along. This week has seen the addition of green stuff on the west end. Here is #102 easing onto the trestle.
Here is an elevated shot of the west end. The rocks turned out pretty good, courtesy of the suggestions given in the "layouts" forum.
Next week should see a mountain rise on the east end and some more forms roughed in.
The Cedar Branch & Western--The Hillbilly Line!
Heres a few updated pictures of my BLMA radio tower. I've added a couple of Radomes. I think its just about done. The tower is unprototypical in that the upper section ends in white. It should end in orange. (I should know I'm responsible for 4 microwave towers). My train wife suggested I trim the top section with an orange band. It actually looks great, although you'll never see a tower look like that in the real world.
Close up...(The Orange color you see is the real deal. I borrowed some paint from our tower crew).
Here are a few more this week. Four detailed Dash-9's at dusk. (G scale)

I'm pretty sure it's a Bachmann. I found it in the club's discard pile took it apart and re-did it.

MRH044 - great MOWs. Thanks for sharing. I love what you G guys can do. To work on my mountains I had to finish a little back work. Because I have a 4x8 up against the wall, I need all me scenery removeble so I have access. But some of the back work needs to be in there first, so under the tablework to fill a little gap. Here is the progress. A pic of the hole and the fill. Still a little to go. I had to shorten on tunnel protal to deal with the close tracks. I love this terraforming stuff as you all know.

Hello everyone, this will be my first time posting pics so please bear with me. These are three of my custom built MOW cars. (G scale) The complete train will be 27 cars long. I have 19 complete, but I will save those until another day. Thanks for looking.
