Why do you want to coat your layout with a film of dirty hydrocarbon?

I am interested in putting a smoke unit in my new Broadway Limited 2-8-2
Mikado.... has anyone out there done this yet ? I am trying hard "not to
re-invent the wheel" with this installation job. The reply I received back from
BLI didn't give me anything to go on.
Thanks...
