However, I have some European models that I picked up when I was over in Germany and Austria and fell in love with their railroads, so every now and then, when I'm in the mood and have had one too many bratwursts, the Sierra Nevada suddenly become the Austrian Alps and I run my Crocodiles. Have to imagine the catenary, though.

I live in New Zealand I choice USA or New Zealand ( Tranz Rail )
USA locomotive is expenise same as New Zealand locmotive but TT scale was cheap ! they use USA metal locmotive to fit in plastic body some white metal use that
I think popular USA model railroader because biggest engine and many wagon like 95 frieght wow so many frieght locomotive can pull 95 frieght
My favourtie is BNSF, ATSF or other company railroader

you are right about the average home size, but I live above my screenprint works and I am blessed with a 25' x 70' living room where I have enough space to build, but not the cheyenne roundhouse,it is just too big,I have room for just a 12 stalls Heljan (app half circle) roundhouse,

i model the Boston and Maine and the Maine central. because Maine is the best state in the union. BUT i'm in the navy and i'm now in ITALY. so my layout went with me. AND BY THE WAY IT"S N-SCALE. It's about 50% done i've scratch built a rollercoaster for Old Orchard Beach as well as the Pier. I'm now looking for a Zephyer to add to the completeness. The time frame is 1943 to be exact. And it is four 2'x4' Moduels. i'm getting ready to add two more.

Mine is modeled in the midwest of North America. I model what I am familiar with, I grew up half a block from a CNW commuter line and worked for them back in the mid-70’s.

I think the reason I have little interest in European trains is just because I cannot relate to them, having never been overseas. It would be hard to model a European line accurately without having to relearn a whole lot of different information. Also they are so much more expensive, justifiably because they appear to be very well made, but still out of my budget.

I recently heard a teenager at a GATS complaining to his friend about what the big deal was with steam locos & F unit “covered wagons”, he couldn’t relate to them because he’s probably never seen one (except maybe in a museum).

Hi Lupo, I haven't lived in Denver for almost 20 years, but when I did, I saw 4005 almost every day. It was in pretty rough shape back then, sitting outside in the weather. I heard that within the last few years it has been moved indoors. I have no idea if it was actually moved or had some kind of shelter built around it, but it shouldn't decay any further.

I always thought that most homes in European countries were modest in size. How did you manage to fit the entire Cheyenne roundhouse into yours? [:P][;)][:D]

Well I have a few layouts! Being a brit I havn't really got room for them. So one is in the bedroom (much to Rhian's Disgust!)
One is OO british outline... and the quality of these modles are so poor I'va almost given up British modeling all together!
I model the BN and is more of a fun watch the trains layout rather than anything serious, but after a trip to the states that's in the pipeline that my change!
