Coach Yard City of LA tail sign.

Hi, I recently bashed one the Coach Yard's expensive Union Pacific City of Los Angeles tail signs.  There was NO WAY I was going to cut a hole in my Soho! I pulled it off with 9 very small SMT leds, some cutting and plaining.  The lettering actually is now more definable, and there's less current draw. The standard, LEDs in the CY unit just over welmed the sign to the point that the letters were washed out.  There was a lot of white and red light comming out all over the edges of the sign. I will say that the CY stamped letter stencil and metal bezel of the sign are really nice, though.  I actually use another, slightly larger SMT LED for all the interior lighting.  There's a total of 17 LEDs in my Soho, and it draws less than 40 ma with a 2.5v, full wave, constant voltage regulator. The process was scary, considering how much I had to pay for it, put I think the hole and the space that all the electronics would have taken up inside would have ruined the car and its interior. http://uphonation.com
