Structure mystery for MRR Historians
Posted by Soo Line fan on Monday, October 15, 2007 7:59 AM

I found a HO model of the White House in my attic. I acquired it back in the 70s along with a 4x8 Lionel layout. This layout was dismantled and the components added to my Lionel layout of my youth.  The Lionel rolling stock on the purchased layout was late 50s vintage. The structure was then added to my Lionel layout as a passenger terminal.

I recently rediscover it and as it is HO would like to incorporate it into a future layout expansion.

After some research, I found out Glencoe Models re-manufactured it. Glencoe specializes in acquiring molds and re-running the models. They do mostly rockets and military stuff of the 50s-60s.

My questions are:

Who originally marketed / manufactured this kit?

How far back does it date?

Does anyone own one?

Here are a couple of links to photos of the kit: http://www.udisco.com/hobbies/pics/099901.jpg

Here is a link to some other Glencoe Models:

Thanks for any information
