Install the turntable and then add the storage tracks.  If it has set stopping points install each track after moving the turntable one stop.  Quite frankly I won't have another engine terminal.  they look good if done properly but they are tremendous space wasters that most of us can not afford.  I now keep extra engines in my staging area where I can switch them out for a change.  It also keeps them from accumulating dust as I cover them with a cloth.

I am getting ready to try one as well. For turn table, I am using the Walthers pre programed. They work, and all the others seem to be problem prone.

If you have steam, you will need an ash pit and a track for the ash car to sit on. You will also need a track for the coal cars to sit on while filling the coal tower. For deasel, you will need a track for the tank cars. You may also want a wash area and an inspection pit.

I will follow this thread to see what I can learn.

If you think you have it right, your standards are too low. my photos http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a235/ARTHILL/ Art

1: How can I make sure that the roundhouse tracks line up perfectly with the turntable?

2: I'm planning to have a roundhouse, caboose track, and a two-part (That is, crossover to the roundhouse lead in the middle) engine servicing track, which I'll inevitably use to store SD40-2s and ABA cab units. This will have a coal, water, maybe sand, and maybe diesel fuel installations on it. Anything I'm forgetting?
