On page 52 of Trains in the "Change comes to Cajon" probably looks all to common for many of the modelers on here. It shows some long autoracks that toppled on a sharp curve. I can't tell you how many times I could have taken that exact same picture from my original layout. Apparently railroads expeienced many of the same problems that modelers do when the expand to the 89 footers.[;)]
I was more prototypical than I had ever thouht.[8D]

I used to have this happen all the time with my double-stacks. The solution? lead ballast! Cut from some old roofing lead discarded by builders working on our roof, fitted inside lower containers using wood glue or cyano adhesive depending on the container design.
