Jeffrey; I an kind of see where people are coming from, just complaining about all the photos, but I really hate how everyone picks on you, I'm not sure why. Does someone have a grudge and is out to ruin your life? I do have one suggestion, maybe you could post links instead of photos, to help the people stck with dial-up.
JK; I don't see you as a bully either, because you have posted other great pics, and helpful threads, but your sarcastic posts of the boxcars, then the comment about how you can't wait to post the rest, IS NOT APPRECIATED HERE!!!

You're correct! I can't control others nor enforce the rules, and I haven't tried, unlike others who go go crying and reporting things to Bergie when they don't like what someone says, comments, or suggests. My SUGGESTION to Jeff was to wait until he had completed his weekend project before posting pictures of it. Others have made the same suggestion, not only this weekend, but in previous weekends. Others disagreed with this suggestion and said it would be fine to post in progress pics and that there is basically no restrictions or limits on how much a person could post. Go back and review those comments and remember them. I made not comment or criticism about his modeling, pro or con, the quality of his pictures etc. The only comment was to wait until he was done so the people could get a complete picture of what he had accomplished. Maybe you're reading too much into what was said?

There was no personal attack made, but you seem to want to limit what I can say or how I can voice my opinion. I wonder how making a post suggestion that Jeff wait until the end of his project to post his pics ruined WPF this weekend. Especially, when there were others who agreed with what I said. Did they ruin it too? Will you report them for abuse? Should we report Jeff for abuse because every weekend he said that he's done with posting pics and then the following weekend is back posting again? This is probably the third or fourth that that has occurred. Is that right?
Now who's picking on who? I don,t see JK as a bully. I see him offering sound advice and thats all I see. Advice! The guy shoots some quality pictures and offers help. Whats wrong with that? He did not ruin the WPF. That was somebody else. So we all know this is aimed at jeffery. So Jeffery, Why not give JK,s advice on how to shoot your pictures and present them in next weeks WPF? and if it works and you feel you,ve improved, good for you. The bottom line here is arn,t we all trying to be the best we can?

A friend of mine up the road a ways (20+ miles) brought me a half sheet of decal paper and some sealer yesterday, so I made some real decals. I found that I have to set my printer on fast draft for it to work with this stuff. Normal just makes the ink crack.
Here's a couple of the decals. I also did some for the number boards. I made some for the GP50 also but they cracked up on me.

Abuse! Please! There was no personal attack, no name calling (unlike your post, should I report you for calling me a 'bag of hot air'?). There wasn't even an attempt to try and limit the number of pics he should post. The initial comment had to do with waiting until he completed his weekend project before posting pics so that people could see the whole process from beginning to end, not through disjointed posts that people would need to find over the course of multiple pages.
For someone who seems against restricting one's posting seem to have no problem about wanting to restrict mine free speech by going and crying to Bergie that someone said something that wasn't wasn't quite nice. Just because you don't agree with someone doesn't make it abuse.
I'm with UP2CSX : I like pictures of layouts too, and I don't care how many anyone posts, or what level of skill they display. And no-one here has the right to whine about the number of photos anyone posts.

Jim-your trucks look great-I like that SAR truck-the paint scheme puts me in mind of the Ohio Sheriff's cars up to the late 90's (well they had 5 point stars instead of 6).

Boy, the family and I went to the zoo today and apparently a few animals showed up here too. For some reason, they seem to vanishing faster than pulled pork at a southern politician's picnic. I wonder if the mods here get carpal tunnel. Thanks for keeping up with the unwanted.
Anyway, I like pictures. I like some pictures better than others but I like pictures. I like ones of layouts in progress especially because I can see the things other people are doing right that I did wrong.
In keeping with my movement this week to improve the emergency service in my little burg of Hillside, I took the advice of the firefighters here and finished up my brush truck. I made a canvas hose bed cover as well as various other details like a crummy attempt at making hard suction hoses and some more decals and lights:
The guys are out getting down the hoses from the drying tower. You can see old Engine No. 1, a 1927 Seagraves that's mostly a parade unit but still serves as a reserve engine. Actually, I lied. I don't know if it's a 1927 Seagraves. It started out as that hunk of red plastic you get with an AHM fire station. I added a bunch of details, paint and decals. So, as far as I'm concerned, it's a 1927 Seagraves. I figured I should tell the truth because the firefighters here will know I'm fibbing:
Lastly, this is a picture of the Sheriff's Department Search and Rescue truck. I spent a lot of my time in SAR and we always got the oldest junk in the department so it's only right that the guys here have a 1972 Chevy pickup. They do take good care of it and the mag wheels kind of spiff it up a little:
I wish I could remember all the other pics that were posted but I always forget who did what and hate to slight anyone. Suffice to say that there were some real interesting ones this week, including those aliens.
To jktrains: Yep, that's perfectly okay. Per the forum rules, I see no restrictions on how to post pictures, as long as they are relevant. However, I'll probably choose to skip over them by scrolling down a bit.
Sure, these things might be bothersome. I was a bit bothered by how a WPF from 2 years back was pulled up. However, did I burst into tears and throw an internet tantrum? No. So, I'm sure that you can:
Suck it up, grow up, and move on.
Otherwise you're acting just like a junior-high bully.
I just got back from a really enjoyable trip up to Vermont with trains+foliage. Guess this ruins my plans to have put up a few shots. Start restricting more than the rules allow, and pretty soon we can restrict anything. It's one of the core reasons we have written constitutions, and rules like those on this board, that clearly spell out what is - and what isn't - restricted.
There have been some really enjoyable posts here this weekend so far. MisterBeasly, the scratchbuild is looking great. Have you got any Squishee left over at the Kwik-E-Mart?
I have removed my photos from this thread and am moving on, preferrably to someplace that members act maturely and not like children who had their candy taken away.

You're entitled to your opinion. Most members posting to this thread will post once with a series of pics either showing progress on a long, ongoing project such as a overall city scene or a specific long lasting project being constructed over a period of several weeks or months. If the project being posted about is one that is started and completed within the same weekend, such as the one at issue, then typically the poster will post to the thread once with a set of pics showing the project completed during the weekend. Of the ones you reference, they have only posted once to this thread about that project, not multiple times.
Jeff, I'm not afraid to mention him specifically, on the other hand has a pattern of posting multiple times over the course of the weekend with each post contain a runnning pictorial dialogue of the project. For example, the first post was pictures of a section of track ready to be ballasted. The next post a few hours later featured pictures of the track after the ballast had been put down, the next post a few hours later featured pics of it glued own, but still wet, with a teaser that he post some pics once the glue had dried. If he wants to provide that kinds of running dialogue, fine, start a thread where people wanting see all the steps in a timestamped fashion can see them. If you think that it's not a problem then I can provide a running pictorial dialogue of how I built a new IM covered hopper with a picture taken after assembly step? That would be acceptable? Here's a pic of the first grab iron installed, here's a pic of the second grap iron installed. Here's a pic of the first top hatch installed. Now I've installed the first hatch latches, now the second hatch etc., etc., etc. It gets old pretty quick. But if that's OK, then be prepared tomorrow.

I guess I better go back and pull my shots of my in progress caboose as I don't even have all the parts I need to finish it........ jktrains, I doubt that you are going to get people to do things as you want. When I see something going on here that doesn't fit my own standards of behavior and it bothers me, I either just skip over it, or go across the street where the air is clearer and people act a bit more mature. To get back on the topic of photos... a shot of the switcher at the (former) Chicago Short Line yards (its now the South Chicago &Indian Harbor Railway Company (SCIH), but my uncle doesn't want to repaint the locos. I personally like this scheme).

This is almost as bad as that UPNut character a few months back... anyway Jeff, I think what they're getting at is to take as many pics as you want while you're building something then grab the BEST 7 (1 shot ea for start and finish + 5 "in the works" shots) and post those 7 all at once, not one every couple of hours as you do something.
EG if I was building a Bowser loco (my dream since geting back into the hobby, even more since seeing Darth SF's Challenger):
1. here's all the bits and pieces in the box (what was I thinking!?) (shot of newly opened box)
2. OK, got the frame all nice and clean, the drivers are all perfectly seated in their bearings. (shot of frame with drivers in place)
3. I HATE RIVITING! (shot of the running gear)
4. Motor installed, tender done, on the test track (on the test track)
5. Have to fix this and this (shot of one side with two problem rivets circled)
6. Running smooth now, time to instal the decoder (shot of a half installed decoder harness)
7. All done (finished, unpainted loco getting broken in)
