haha. ya i'm hooked. i had my application on the kitchen table and my dad spilt water or something all over it. now i have to get a new one. oh well.

i think submitting articles like this would be good practice since my high school doesn't have a newspaper or journalism class. my goal though is to be a beat writer for a pro team. hopefully the Milwaukee Brewers (MLB) or someother team. i'd gladly do MLB of NBA or NFL.

Yup, infact members are the only ones who can submit articles. Look for the article on my Allentown Scranton & Northern in the February issue. I'm starting a column in the Hotbox infact and I'm also interested in journalism (writing for MR, Model Railroad Craftsmen or any prototype RR magizine.

Great! I hope you like it. you may get lucky and get the 40th anniversay issue (I haven't got it yet). The Hotbox is small but I think you will enjoy it (it's getting bigger in fact when I joined six month ago they just restarted the TAMR after a 8 month break (Many new columns have apeard in the last few months).

4884bigboy, first off all the people that run the TAMR are teens so anyone under 21can run. Secondly I'll e-mail the president and ask him what he can do about that.

i like that idea of giving discounts to members of the TAMR. i could surely use that. i've started to buy a lot of stuff at the LHS since there haven't been many shows lately.

My son used to belong to TAMR. While he was in, he went to all the local hobby shops that were primarily MRR only to leave brochures he had done up. One of them wouldn't let him leave them there. Truly a stupid move on their part since their future business is dependent on teens today.

TAMR's should be offer the club benefits that other MRR clubs receive, but that's assuming intelligence on behalf of the LHS owner.

Here is a thought on something really practical for TMRA. With your membership card and student ID, manufacturers should provide rebates and discounts on products for TMRA members. This would "give a kid a break" on the cost of MRR equiptment and help to promote the hobby. That would help more students enter the hobby which would produce more adults who would buy more MRR stuff in the future.

Just a thought.
