One word:

Soundbug from Digitrax.

If it fits your exact decoder? GREAT! If not? Sell the old one and use the seed fund to get into the Digitrax Soundbug.

They are not cheap.

Up grading a FP-45 to sound?

I have a old Blue Box Athearn FP-45 War Bonnet I have up grade to DCC with a new Gen Athearn Motor.

That is what is in the Old Blue Box now with a DH123D Digitrax Decoder. Motor and drive is from a Dash 8 I think.

It runs great and I turly enjoy it draging 32 cars like there is nothing behind it. But it lack sound, time to fix that.

I would like a part number for a sound decoder and speaker, but that is the esay part. How do I install the speaker it self?

1 Is there a speaker that has a sound box all ready bulit on to it?

2 All my other sound engines have the speakers facing toward the track. Steamers speakers are in the tenders facing down. My E-7 and GE AC 6000 has the speakers in the belly where the fuel tanks would be.

3 Is there a rule for sizes of sound box vers the sizes of the speaker like in my stereo hobby?

I perfer to stay with Digitrax, what my LHS carries.
