... and mine.

Perhaps showing Russel these notes when he's ready will bring him a bit of comfort.

I am quite sorry to say the least. Sad [:(] This has not been a good weekend. Recently on another non train related forum one of our members died in a car accident. Quite a shame. My condolences go out to both families.

Sorry to read such sad news about Russel. I will remember him, his family, and friends in my prayers.

It seems every week I read of a local man killed in a motorcycle accident.  Cycling is an invitation to tragedy.  I continually thank God my grown children have shown no interest in motorcycles.  My sister recently bought one, and that causes great concern.

Jerry,

I agree with Simion.  Your prayers, your choice of words, and your "supporting silence" will all be comforting to your friend and his family at this time.

Also, remember them and call them - especially when Thanksgiving and Christmas roll around.  A sincere "Hey, how are your doing?" and squeeze on the back of the arm can speak volumes to others dealing with a loss.

My prayers are with your friend and his family.  Unspeakable loss like this puts into perspective what our lives are about.  Perhaps your friendship and mutual love of MRR will be what your friend needs to help him heal over the coming months?

Tragic weekend

In the past few months I have introduced a friend to model railraoding and even purchased a bunch of rolling stock and also have given him a number of engines .He is excited about teaming up with me and starting a club. I am thankful for his enthusiam and willingness to a part of a fun hobby. But part of becoming friends and developing a hobby together also comes a sharing of lifes struggles. His wife called yesterday , with her voice barely able to hold back the sobs she informed me my friends younger brother had been tragically killed in a motorcycle accident Sat. night. My friend is understandably broken up and can not speak with out breaking down into sobbing. I would ask your thoughts and prayers for him ,his family during this time of great distress.Thank you.
