The club that belong to has not banned them nor have a heard of any club banning them. In our club we haven't had problems with verticle misalignedments because we are a bunch of retentive *** when it come to rolling stock standards.

I also run some long cars with the #58 couplers and have only had a couple of problems with some low spots with my track that I had not noticed. They seem to be less tolerant of vertical miss alignments. I just solved the low spots and have nor had any more trouble.
I also noticed that the gathering range for relible coupling is less. This could be why some clubs band them.

There is no such thing as a bad day of railfanning. So many trains, so little time.

Why are the clubs out west banning them, whats the trouble. I have them on locos and freight cars(89'to '50). I have had no trouble. They look great and they make big difference in the way the locos and cars look.
