Sluggish DCC Engine FP40 Amtrak

Hello,
I installed two decoder plug and plays in two brand new PH40 Amtrak Diesel Engines. One runs great and the other is sluggish and then runs and will not stop. Strobes on both work and lights. Does it need oil or a break in period. It acts on it's own I feel. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Greg

I can't help you but it's a good idea to also state the loco manufacturer's name.
Walthers, Lifelike, Bachmann or ?

Since you haven't received any replies I would go to www.bachmanntrains.com
and post your question on their message board.
Also, I would click on the "CONTACT US" selection, then click on their SERVICE link and their E_Mail form pops up.
I'm not DCC and only own one Spectrum, the new HW Steamer.
Best I can offer.
