i use AMi and it is a very good product. Layed over styrofoam you can also use nails to secure your track (and the nails can be easily removed. The ami is very flexible and sound absorbing and can be used in additional ways such as making streets, railroad crossings, etc. If you don't like it just pull it up. they say is holds ballast without glue but I haven't tried that.
