Rubber tires for AHM Tempo engine

Hi.
I'm just getting back into model railroading again and one of my old AHM engines had some rubber tires on 2 of the wheels and they have worn off. It is an old F-7A engine. Where can I get some more of them? I've been trying the 'net but without much luck.

Before you call me crazy, I'll refer to an old hint I once read in Model Railroader. Go to you local dentist, and see if he will part with some rubber bands meant for braces. They are about the right size, and while not quite as long lasting as factory replacements, they will do for a stop-gap measure. Of course, you might want to consider re-powering your old AHM locos with an updated drive. I'm not aware of any AHM F-units ever made, you probably have an AHM E-8. I would suggest using a Cannon replacement motor.
Good luck, Todd C.

Hey,
these are called "traction tires" and ANY local train type hobby store can either get them or has them with a neat tool for installing them.

since you're just getting back into Model R.R., you might not know that AHM is now IHC. You can try their website at WWW.IHC.COM

Thanks for the good suggestions. My daughter-in-law works for a dentist. I'll have her check tomorrow. I appreciate the replies.

Stewart Products (not the people who make the locomotives but the much older firm that makes detail parts) sells replacement traction tires for AHM/IHC/Rivarossi.
Their entire line is little known but has some interesting stuff in it
