BLI Switcher Behavior

I found that BLI included a behavior where the engine will resist the analog throttle's commands to move forward and backwards. Instead what you will hear is the motor revving up and as you get moving the engine eases off.. I thought this was great!
Now I wonder if all BLI desiels do this?
What about steam? Is it possible to do the same thing?

First generation diesels by EMD had to "shift gears" electrically called compensation. Basically you had to go up to notch 4, throw the throttle back off to idle, shift the winding compensator, and throttle up for notches 5 thru 8. So you had this funny hesitation. This is already included in my Soundtrax dsx150d decoder in my Stewart FT sound B unit. It should be that way in BLI's new NW2 switcher. I don't know about the SW7, whether they the S7'sand the GP7's had it or not. I think possibly they and the f3'sdid.
