The layout at the hobby store right next to my home.
It's been there since I was a kid.

Ed, I like that hoist, I think I'll make one for my RH.
Bear, didn't you scratch build that boat on the flatcar?
Good stuff everyone, thanks.

Easy to scratch, yes. Or you could cheat:

For six bucks, I think I'll cheat.
Thanks, Ed.

Thanks, Tom, love the garden RR, I want one and so do the dogs.
Did some coupler testing with a longer train and replaced the couplers on six cars to Kadees. Ran it for over an hour while I was working on the layout without mishap.
So here is, once around, big train, little layout, or, Honey, does this train make my layout look small.
Loved the long train Brent!
Cheers!!

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
Nice layout, nice video, Brent. It makes a big layout look even bigger.
Does your track plan permit you to reverse the direction of trains?

Thanks, Dave and Rich.

The track that circles around closest to the RH is a balloon track with an AR on it that is almost 16' long. I can run a train through that to turn it if I choose. My turntable is only a 90', so larger engines need to use the balloon track as well to change direction.

I wouldn't call it a big layout by any means. There was a great thread years ago here on how large a layout had to be to fit in the small, medium, or large category. I figured mine was a larger size of the small category.
I like seeing panoramic views of layouts with trains going around, they are the ones that gave me lots of good ideas for mine when I got back into the hobby. So grab your phones, turn up the lights and don't worry about the hot water tank in the background. Give us the big picture.
So Brent, will there be a movie for tonight?

I hope so, but it won't be by Cecil B DeBrent. Hopefully, some more of our group will step up. With most of us owning cell phones it is pretty easy to do.

Nice. Was that a drive-in on the hilltop??

Bear, thanks for the layout tour, I bet running on that would have been a treat. Love that trestle and was glad to see that little Atlas station on duty as it seems to be on so many layouts.
I was busting up trains this afternoon and I kept pulling larger and larger cuts of cars with my Rapido SW1200RS. Here is how far I got.
Take a guess as to how many it pulled and see if you come close.
Last pickup of the day.

Being a guy that likes numbers/stats curiosity got the best of me and so I did a little monitoring to see how many watched the video I posted. Youtube has an analytics feature that lets you know who is watching and for how long.
In the 24 hour period after I posted the video 196 people viewed the thread and 3 people watched the video. I can now go to the shareholders and explain the dismal return on popcorn sales.
I then posted the video to other places to see how the return was there and was surprised by a large number of views. What I don't understand is why someone clicks on the thread but not the video? Unless Youtubes analytics page just doesn't work.
I think Friday Night At The Movies can now drift off into the sunset. There's just no money in it!
BATMANWhat I don't understand is why someone clicks on the thread but not the video?
If I watch the video here and don't click the view on youtube button, does youtube count the video as being viewed?

It shows up as being watched as embedded in trains. com or if you click on it twice for a larger view and go right to Youtube it will show that as well.
