Good Afternoon!

Just woke up from a nap, but I can´t say I feel refreshed. My body aches and I feel like hiding in the back booth, with my favorite teddy bear tucked under my arm, a mug of steaming hot chocolate in front of me, and sulking.

I am right now suffering a total loss of confidence in whatever I may attempt in doing, extending far beyond model railroading. I know I am heading down the wrong road, but can´t turn around. It´s a feeling of getting lost in your own house, like longing for a change and being afraid of it at the same time.

I try to divert my mind by looking at some train videos, but I can´t do more than 30 seconds at a time!

Found this video, showing the dream layout of my childhood days:

Watching it brough back memories of the early 1960´s, when the family used to take the streetcar into downtown Düsseldorf just before Christmas. I spent hours (at least it felt that way) with my nose pressed against the window of Ziem Spielwaren, a toy store long gone, watching the trains run around and around on a similar layout. Later I found out that my father bought our Christmas gifts while us three kids were window shopping outside, carefully being watched over by Mom.

Happy days!
