Great Lakes Mining

After G&A bought GDRM&MCo Rail from GDRM&MCo there were rumours floating around that G&A would also buy GDRM&MCo itself. Those rumours became true after January 1st and the new mining sub of G&A was expanded from Australia to the Great Lakes reigon. New ore mines have been started and a rail line has been set up. The American sector of GDRM&MCo has bought 15 GDRMB rebuilt SD40-2RCX's and SD45T-2RCX's. These locomotives look like this:

The GLM also imported 700 ore jennies and 7 crew cars. Here is what they look like:

Living in Minnesota, I have to say I haven't heard anything about what you are saying. However, I am unfamiliar with all the abbreviations you have used. Please give me the full name of the lines you mentioned. I get that GLM=Great Lakes Mining. In Minnesota, the last independent Iron Range RR that I can think of was the Mesabi Road, (Duluth Mesabi and Iron Range, DMIR). It's my understanding that just recently the DMIR became an acquisition of the Canadian National conglomerate.

I also am interested in your post, I can't imagine a 'new' mining operation in the Great lakes region. I'm not an expert but I'm a big DMIR fan and try to follow them closely. DeSchane is correct about CN taking over DMIR in summer of 2004. Unless GLM is taking over Reserve mining or LTV/Erie Mining operations I would be surprised. with the ore cars pictured It can't be LTV/Erie as they have a specialized Dock at Taconite Harbor which doen't accept the standard 24' ore jennie.

I'm very interested.

I think they're talking about their fictional lines.
