Jim, Here are a couple of things I found helpful. Don't use water-based stain or paint, It will warp the wood. If it has full size plans, get the creases out of it, tape it down, then tape a piece of wax paper tight over the top. You can line up pieces & glue over the top of it without damaging the instructions. I like good old Elmer's glue, just wipe up any excess or stain and paint adhere to the glue. Put masking tape on the back of wall sections when you cut out for doors and windows, it helps keep the wood from splitting. It has been several years since I built a campbell kit, they are a blast, but to expensive for my budget. Good luck <br /> John
