It´s way past lunchtime and, although I had a wholesome lunch, I am getting hungry again. Chloe, how about a sliche of that cherry crumble pie, with a topping of vanilla ice cream and rum raisins? Add a mug o´ coffee to that, please!

Good Afternoon, Gentlemen!

My morning was filled with a routine visit to my doc. He ad, as a matter of fact, I are very pleased with how my health is developing. OK, there are still limitations as to my walking and the use of my left hand, but I am starting to feel better. I also got two shots - against flu and pneumonia, jsut to keep me out of trouble during the upcoming sneezing, coughing and (you name it) season.

Developing layout ideas and preparing detailed drawings has really turned into a hobby within the hobby for me. I quite like this "computer-assisted imagineering"! The software I now use will have a feature enabling one to run a train over the layout and view it in 3D - who needs to actually build the layout then? [:-^]

Oh c´mon, guys - I don´t really mean that. Nothing beats the actual building of a layout!

Before going for a little nap, I´d like to show two pictures of my layout plan - one showing catenary detail and the other one showing the layout a little clearer than those blurred pics in the video:

Those two pictures give you an idea of how much work is involved in preparing the plan for even a small layout like this one. None of the catenary components is available as a standard object, each item had to be individually drawn. Ditto for buildings and structures. What makes drawing an object a challenge is the fact that the tool does only provide a 2D drawing feature to which you add info on position in a 3D environment and height. Checking is done in the 3D viewing feature. This process makes drawing an object an iterative process - [|)]

As I like this ordeal "work" quite a lot (and with nothing better to do at the moment) I´d like to offer my help in developing ideas for a small layout, jus as I have done previously. This is my contribution in the attempt to make this thread more interesting. This service is for friends only and free of any charge or obligation (on both accounts). How´s that?

Have a great day!
