With tomorrow being Nov 11th, how about a cenotaph or a town square.

Twenty-four hours have come and gone—

No town squares in sight.

Here are two examples of a locomotive bought by a railroad other than the original owner, thus the paint job has been "patched".

 P-C_F7_754 by Edmund, on Flickr

Anyone have another locomotive repaint, or patch-out by a new owner?

Not much in the way of patch-outs on my roads, but I do have a few hoppers which received a minor modification to their numbers when they underwent a change of ownership...

...this one's in a bit more presentable state...

Show me a scratchbuilt or kitbashed piece of rolling stock, please.

The SOUTH RICKMORT boxcar was built using ends, roof, doors, and underframe from the scrap box. The side were built from styrene sheet and U channels. There is no prototype for this freight car.

Since beauty is usually in the eye of the beholder, I kinda like the looks of this one, in-part because it's mostly scratchbuilt...

Please show me another freight car, one that pleases your eyes.

While not a very fancy paint job I like the unique status of this class of car. The PRR owned exactly one. It was built specifically for hauling fire fighting engines from the American La france plant in Elmira, New York to their buyer's destinations. At 74' 9" coupled, it was certainly a very long box car in its day. It also features end doors.

BRVRR didn't make a specific request, but I'll assume that we're still interested in colourful freight cars.

Here's the supposed blue boxcar which I posted earlier, in truth a commemerative car celebrating the 10th anniversary of the formation of the Big Blue Trains Forum.  It's a Train Miniature USRA steel boxcar that I built to be auctioned-off in support of that Forum.

Show me another colourful freight or passenger car, please.

I guess the little people did not feel like gathering and posing for a picture anywhere. 24 hours, time for a new picture.

.

This looks pleasing enough, with a little beige house in the background, to bump this thread to the top.

The old gray falling down shack in the background is one of those paper printouts. I had just printed it off and my very young daughter (I think she was five) came into the office and asked what that paper with the house on it was for. I said "you cut out the pieces and make a house out of it". She said "can I do it" as she pulled it off the desk, I said "sure", and she came back with it put together a little while later. It has been on the layout ever since.

Please show something a family member contributed.
