For $80.00 you got crap. That's the old Riv. Look at the new rivs, new drive & new technology such as the Allegheny for $350.00 and the new FEF-3 Northern for $150.00. I just said Look. The question about the Rivs is the new warranty pending the hornby UK tender\buy out that could be closed by year end. I own both models. The written warranty langauge states a twowarranty service agreement but it has to go back to italy for $21.10 Walthers was or still is?the distributor of Riv products and over rode the FEF-3 Northern warranty. Should the model fail, it may be return to Walthers within 12 months with the warranty card or to the walthers dealer you purchased from for an exchange providing they have stock on hand. That's the question one has to consider. Will they be enough on hand throughout the next 12 months if something were to go wrong. I'm pleased with the Allegheny & FEF-3
