I've bought most of the pieces for $20-30 Cdn straight from the CAT (Finning) Dealership. There is a brass collector piece also, but that is way out of my league (about $425 Cdn) - I have no idea what it is anymore, as I haven't seen it for a few months... lots of moving parts and tiny chains. Probably worth a lot more in about 10 years... or not.
anyway Mac, what about your railroad - era, scale, design... ?
cheers
[/quote]

krump...EMD is the locomotive building branch of General motors, it is now called GMLG, or General Motors Locomotive Group, I have a flatcar loaded with a couple of Norscot dozers, Looks real nice, chained down to the deck with scale chain. The $425 brass model that you refer to is probably made by CCM, Classic Construiction Models www.ccmodels.com They make beautiful brass models of dozers, draglines, cranes and heavy haul trucks, in different scales including HO. My railroad is modern era, HO scale, and it may be a dirty word to some, but I model contempary Union Pacific, What do you model? Thanks for your interest.

Mac
